Over the last […]

8 Reasons to NOT Send Your Daughter to College-Final Part

Here are the reasons to NOT send your daughter to college: 1. She will attract the wrong types of men. I share the common concern addressed to us, again mainly by angry women, that there are so many lazy men in our society. But what mystifies me is why girls continue to marry them and […]

8 Reasons to NOT Send Your Daughter to College- Part1

Probably the most controversial and rejected position we have at Fix the Family is that parents should not send their daughters to college. It is even more vehemently opposed than the submission of wives to their husbands. Both of these positions we have are a threat to the trophies of the feminist agenda, so the […]

Dear Readers, While watching a video about the recent suicide of a six month pregnant woman who was also a mother of two children, it pained me a lot.  She committed suicide as she was being tortured for more dowries.  On the other hand, I was startled when I read about the facilities provided in […]

Is he still a student?

| July 20, 2014 | 2 Comments

Dear Readers,

Hello and As Salamualaykum!

The Holy month of Ramadan is coming to a close for Muslims around the world. It is a time when millions reflect and pray for change.  Once prophet (SM) was climbing his pulpit in Madina, and his pulpit had 3 steps. Every step he climbed, he said Ameen; hearing this, the companion of the prophet said, “Oh messenger of Allah, why you had said Ameen thrice which you never said before?” He said, “when I was climbing the steps, angel Gabriel came and said Oh Muhammad (SAW) if any one of your nation manages to be alive and witness the month of Ramadan, and can not get his sins forgiven, may he perish in the fire of Hell, say Ameen, so he said Ameen, Then he climbed the second step, Gabriel said, “Oh Muhammad (SAW) if anyone who manages to catch Laylatul Qadar, and he does not get his sins forgiven, may he perish in the fire of Hell, say Ameen,” and he said Ameen. Then he climbed the 3rd step, and Gabriel said,” Oh Muhammad(SAW) anyone of your Ummah who finds his parents, one of them or both, alive in old age, and did not manage to get his sins forgiven by serving them, may he perish in the fire of Hell, and so he said Ameen.

Unfortunately there are also some Muslims who do not seek the blessings and forgiveness of Allah during Ramadan and spend the month just like any other month.  A comparison with the students clarifies their situation:

After having sought admission in the best school
Hardly attends classes being busy with other schedule

Didn’t purchase any books or uniform due to lack of zest
Neither studies at home nor has passed a single test

Spent many a year in frolic and pleasure
Having neither interest in studies nor any fear of failure

Has been doing this for over several years
But looks forward to having a very bright career

Does he still qualify to be called a STUDENT?
Is he not lying to himself and far from being prudent?

Similar is the case of those Muslims
Who call themselves religious persons

They are neither aware nor follow the path of Islam
And even if aware, do not abide by any rules and regulations

The only thing that they have, is a Muslim name
That brought to themselves and Islam nothing but shame.

This is what that can be said to such Muslims?

You don’t want to pay zakah
But enjoy very much earning Ribah

Neither you Pray or Fast,
Nor you read the Qura’n
You do not know
what’s a Farz and what’s a Sunan

You eat, drink, sleep
and live as you like it all
You can’t distinguish between
what’s Haraam and Halaal

You spend your time
in accumulating wealth
But unable to perform Hajj
while you are in good health

You religiously adhere
to all the customs and traditions
But utterly disregard the Creator’s
rules and regulations

You criticize, complain,
and condemn about every Sect
To correct what you are doing,
you have no time to inspect

You were sent to this world
to be a torch of guidance
Instead, you live in darkness
out of ignorance or arrogance

What remains in you
is just your name tag
Would it not be better
if your name is either wood or a rag?

Your name is bringing great disrepute
to the Religion and its race
There’s still time for you to revert
and help yourself from the eternal disgrace.

This holy month has a lot to teach, I have seen many people who follow the fast and read the Quran but don’t follow Islam the way they should. Your post is very strong and is apt for this holy month. If there are any who are making a mistake with or without their knowledge, I pray that they read your post and then make the most of this holy month to repent and change for the good.
