It is said that education begins before birth and at home even before going to school. It takes almost six to eight years after high school to become a doctor. However, after marriage a woman assumes many roles or positions in the family such as a teacher, an accountant, banker, chef, child care manager, counselor, dressmaker, environmental manager, fitness manager, intelligence officer, judge, medical administrator, nutritionist, pediatrician, procurement manager, psychologist etc.

How many years of education would be necessary to understand the scope of some of the aforesaid roles / positions? It is normally accepted that academic education is more than sufficient to be married. Once married, everything will fall in place. However, there are also a number of skills, abilities and attributes that go a long way in assisting and educating the person before embarking on the marital journey.

I have tried to shed light on some of the basic requirements in my book “The Muslim Wedding Flight” that would serve the purpose of a ‘Marriage Toolkit’.  The book is available on Amazon.com and can be downloaded by clicking on the right side bar:
