Education, Education and Education

| July 22, 2013 | 23 Comments

The Bollywood film industry is abuzz with the dialogues “A film is successful for three reasons; Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment”. Similarly, a Society is successful for three reasons “Education, Education and Education”. However, providing education has become a complicated problem for the parents.

Every night when the mother goes to bed her only thought is what to cook for breakfast and what to pack for kid’s lunch. The father is worried with the thought of paying the exorbitant monthly school fee and transportation charges. The children are usually worried with the thought of either tests or exams.

In order to ease the various problems of all concerned, we have established a school that is unique in concept and simple for the parents and students. We have seen that children spend early part of their life with books, books and books and they long to have social life and good entertainment. They crave to watch their favorite channels but are scolded for not concentrating on their studies. They get only a glimpse here and there.

Our school offers education through some of the best TV channels and YouTube. The classes are equipped not with black boards but with projector screens. We have modified the videos in an interactive mode from TV channels according to the subjects. The students will watch the interactive videos related to their subjects and will make a note of important points and save it on their desktop computers. At the end of the year, they will be given one multiple-choice question paper for all subjects. If they answer 60% of the questions, they will be promoted to the next class. There will be no rank, no class and all students who secure 60% will be deemed as promoted.

School Uniform: Instead of having uniforms of three colors a week and putting the parents and children in distress, we would like to make it a colorful week. We want the students to come in their best and colorful dresses. This will remove one big hurdle for the parents as well as the students.

Books: The students are made to carry almost 8-10kgs of books everyday and some schools do not have even an elevator in the school buildings and the students are made to carry the bags several floors. This pathetic situation is also taken care of as there are no books required for our school.

Homework: We do not believe in homework as is in the present schools. The homework and projects are done mostly by the parents as the students cannot cope-up with the amount of homework given to them every day. We wish our students to relax at home and hence there will be no homework for them. This will remove another hurdle for the students and parents.

Admissions: Parents who desire to admit their children can fill in the admission forms online and choose the respective channels according to the class.

Fees: There will be no donation. The fee depends upon the channels selected.

Curriculum: The curriculum is based on ICUC Syllabus wherein the children learn by seeing.

Breakfast and Lunch: The school will provide nutritious breakfast and lunch supplied from the best restaurants in the city. This initiative will also remove the burden of preparing breakfast and lunch for the kids.

What parents will pay is purely for nutritious breakfast and lunch and for the channel subscription that will include admin and maintenance charges. We sincerely hope that all parents and children will enjoy studying in this unique school.  Any further suggestions from parents and students are highly appreciated.

UCIC Timetable

I was about to ask the address for the school’s website when I heard the alarm. I woke up and thus missed out the school’s address.

PS:  The video above shows the desperate mother who wants to educate her children but unable to bear the burden of school fees.  Its truly an eye opener for all of us to ponder over the educational system in our Country and the need to improve it so that a majority of them are able to educate their children.

I’m humbled by your comment. This is just a dream today and who knows it may become reality some day. If we remove greed and selfishness from our lives, it would help all to live a peaceful and enjoyable life. Educational Institutions are supposed to be the fountains of knowledge.

  3. Saru Singhal says:

We need to change the education system and make it less taxing on all involved. I really like the chart you made, that ways we can get more participation from students.

Very true Saru. The current educational system is only a money making machine or say an ATM. Thanks for your appreciation and hope one day there will be schools with these charts too.

A wonderful description of what oh so many parents would love their children’s school to be like. I am able to totally relate to it because I am currently looking at schools for my daughter who is just 1 1/2. Admissions start as early as december for next june and I have to prepare for it a year ahead!! Choosing a school for our children is such an important decision, I wish there were few schools like the one you described, where our children can enjoy the process of learning. :)

    • Fayaz Pasha says:

Many thank Preethi for your encouraging comments. I’m given to understand that such a dream school does exist in reality but unfortunately the school charges around 35,000 per month unlike this school which may charge around Rs.400/- for all channels.

I have just uploaded a video that is truly an eye opener about the tragedy of a family who cannot bear the school fees and the mother’s desperateness to educate her children.

      Thanks again for dropping by.

  7. Ha ha ha. Had you slept a bit further, you could have got the address of the ideal school. The present day education system has many chinks in their armor. They oppress all the three viz the mother, the father and the child. The curriculum is defective. Since we proudly follow the Macaulay System, we are able to make children only to read and write; we fail to educate them in the real sense of the term ‘education’.

    • Fayaz Pasha says:

Well, I could have slept a little further but would have missed my office. This area needs an overhaul wherein the three victims can get relief and education is available to all in its true sense. Thanks Easwarji for dropping by.

  8. Oh! why did you wake up, I would have loved to join this school and put my kids there as well.
