8 Reasons to NOT Send Your Daughter to College-Final Part

Here are the reasons to NOT send your daughter to college: 1. She will attract the wrong types of men. I share the common concern addressed to us, again mainly by angry women, that there are so many lazy men in our society. But what mystifies me is why girls continue to marry them and […]

8 Reasons to NOT Send Your Daughter to College- Part1

Probably the most controversial and rejected position we have at Fix the Family is that parents should not send their daughters to college. It is even more vehemently opposed than the submission of wives to their husbands. Both of these positions we have are a threat to the trophies of the feminist agenda, so the […]

A Successful Partnership

| February 22, 2016 | 10 Comments

Those seeking a spouse especially parents should watch the above video

We all crave harmonious relationships, which seem to be a rare commodity these days. As you are aware, there are many situations where partnerships are involved especially in business, sports, games etc. These partnerships are based upon achieving certain objectives for a particular duration. However, there’s also an objective for which one seeks a partnership which is known as a ‘Life Partner’. In order to have a successful partnership, one needs to know and understand the objectives of this partnership.

Let’s first understand what a ‘Partnership’ is:

  1. A partnership is an arrangement in which two or more individuals share the profits and liabilities of a business venture.
  2. A relationship between individuals or groups characterized by mutual cooperation and responsibility for the achievement of a specific goal.
  3. A partnership is an arrangement where parties, known as partners, agree to cooperate to advance their mutual interests.

It is perceived that the best pairs recognize their individual limitations and respect what the other could bring to a partnership. A combination of Skills and Foresight leads to success in a partnership.  Some of the vital points that need to be considered before entering  into a business partnership are:

  1. Having a shared vision & mission.
  2. Decide regarding percentage of ownership.
  3. Decide about allocation of profits and losses.
  4. Being aware of a successful history
  5. Have the hard talks about money.
  6. Decide who the real leader is.
  7. Ensure each others’ commitment is understood.
  8. Have compatible, vital skills and styles.
  9. Identify and utilize the strengths of each partner.
  10. Capable to support partnership limitations.
  11. Capable to handle disagreements, disappointments and frustrations.
  12. Define job roles for each partner, including accountability.
  13. Make sure each partner’s needs and expectations are addressed.
  14. To enter into a Partnership Agreement Contract. This is the legal document that defines each person’s rights and responsibilities, as well as contains provisions for running the company.

For a business partnership to be successful, the above requisites are taken care of. However, while entering into a life partnership only a few points are considered such as Education, Occupation, Income and physical features.

Some of the vital aspects that need to be checked in a life-partner are Virtues, Values, Morals and Life Skills that provide a strong platform for a successful partnership.

In the absence of the above aspects, the couple’s relationship is at stake and may lead to divorce and sometimes result in the loss of life of a partner as shown in the above video.

It is therefore essential for those who are seeking a life partner and for parents who are seeking a spouse for their children to not limit themselves to being satisfied with one or two aspects but also ensure that the life-partner is also emotionally and morally well equipped.

The above criteria for a business partnership are as much applicable to a successful partnership in the marital journey.

How many people sincerely make an effort to include the above criteria while seeking a spouse?

A very well balanced analysis. We need many ingredients for a union to work, especially marriage. I hope most of us can stick to these pointers, and add values, morals and love to it.

  2. Very well said, values stand first in a relationship… and little adjustments matter a lot… :-)

Interesting comparison between business partnership and marital partnership, Sir. Unfortunately, many relationships are based on financial aspects only.

    • Fayaz Pasha says:

The shocking video prompted me to cite the example of a business partnership in comparison to marital partnership. Its true that a majority of the marriages are financially based. Hope parents and those seeking a life-partner also consider these vital points before tying the knot and save themselves from suffering.

Thank you Sindhoo for your kind comments.

  4. Completely concur with you here Fayazji… it’s not about matching one or two characteristics or needs… it’s about every little aspect that is important for the person who is looking for a spouse!!

Thank you Archana. Well said! every aspect is important but its so unfortunate that those seeking a spouse are not mature enough to understand this and parents do not think its necessary for every aspect to be reviewed as they always believe “shaadi ke baad sub theek ho jayega”.

Thanks again for your kind comment.

  5. So aptly said! Virtues, values and morality is a must in any relationship. Thank you for spreading such a thoughtful word through this meaningful article.

Yes, Virtues, Values and Morals provide a road map for the individual’s life and if these three are absent all other qualifications are worthless.

Thank you Maitreni for your encouraging remarks. Whoever spares some time for watching the above video will surely understand it.
