Hello and As Salamualaykum!
Ramadan is half way through and the blessed month will soon end with the celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr. Those who understood the significance of this blessed month would certainly reap the blessings of Almighty Allah and those who observed it as a yearly ritual wouldn’t be able to perceive it until they are able to improve their faith.
The following are some of the tools and gadgets that are used to CONTROL by way of stopping, closing, resisting, halting, locking or blocking certain things.
On the other hand, human brain with 86,000 million nerves is the most complicated and powerful gadget. It is indeed a herculean task to practice CONTROL on this gadget. Fasting in Ramadan is one such powerful tool that helps in practicing brain control. A 15 hour fast without a sip of water in a 50 degree hot climate is unthinkable in normal days. By the blessings of Allah, fasting during Ramadan makes this task so easy. By fasting, one not only learns to control thirst and hunger but also it enables to control those emotions that cause negative, vile thoughts, actions and behavior. As long as we are unable to control our thoughts, our actions, behavior, character and destiny are all under risk.
Fortunate are those who use this wonderful and powerful tool to domesticate, detoxify and control the brain enabling them to be a better human being not just for the next eleven months but for the rest of their lives. Those who are unable to make the best use of this opportunity, pass the month of Ramadan in a ritualistic manner.
“A Prayer of the Prey” represents those who are unable to benefit from this blessed month and pass it just as a ritual:
