Taught and Read

| January 11, 2013 | 0 Comments

Life begins being taught

How to brush or how to eat

When to sleep or how to greet

How to count and how to measure

What gives pain and what brings pleasure

What to do and what to avoid

what makes complete and what is devoid

As we grow we learn more from many sources

From teachers, professors, elders and media discourses

Our learning grows manifold

By imitating and by what we are told

When we are overwhelmed with information

We ought to read more to have a differentiation

Between right and wrong, good and bad, false from truth

Alas! we stop reading at this stage of transition from youth

We accede to and accept what is norm

We lose our identity, integrity and our form

We ought to know where we tread

As our actions depend upon

What is taught and read.
